Rogue Wave

About Rogue Wave Hosting

We run one product on AMD hardware we operate, and we price it one way: $3.00 per gigabyte of memory, in every region.

What we sell

A virtual private server with dedicated vCPU that is never oversubscribed. Instances run on AMD Ryzen 9 and EPYC nodes with NVMe M.2 SSD storage, and each one carries its own dedicated IPv4 address with DDoS protection included at no extra cost.

You get full root or administrator access from first boot. Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Desktop, Debian, CentOS and Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 are available at checkout, setup is automated, and the server is ready within seconds of it. Ports stay in your hands: the firewall on your VPS is yours to open.

Memory and disk expand later without a rebuild. Upgrades are prorated, so a mid-cycle move from 4 GB to 8 GB costs the difference for the rest of the term and nothing else.

Why one flat rate per gigabyte

The usual approach is a ladder of named plans, where the thing you actually need sits one rung above the thing you can afford and drags four other upgrades along with it. We price on memory instead: $3.00 per GB, starting at 2 GB for $6.00 a month, with the same rate at every size.

That is a pricing model, not a claim to be the cheapest anywhere. What it does buy you is arithmetic you can do in your head, and a specification that does not move as the number goes up. Dedicated vCPU, NVMe storage, a dedicated IPv4 and DDoS protection ship with the 2 GB instance and with the 32 GB instance.

The only discount is commitment: 5% on quarterly terms, 10% semi-annually, 15% annually. Prices are in US dollars.

Where the nodes run

Four regions, each on named silicon rather than a vague cloud region code. The Ryzen 9 nodes run a 4.5 GHz base clock, and single core Geekbench 6 clears 3000 in every region.

What we do not offer yet

Two things are announced and neither is on sale. They are listed here for the same reason they are badged as coming soon in the footer: so nobody plans around them early.

  • Managed web hosting. Announced and not purchasable yet. Today the platform is an unmanaged VPS with root access, which is a different job.
  • A budget Intel instance tier. Announced with pricing to be announced. Until there is a price it stays off the configurator.

We would rather leave the gap visible than describe something you cannot buy today. The same rule applies to the rest of this site: if a number is not published, it is not printed here.

Pick a size and a city

The configurator prices memory, region and term together, so the monthly figure is the figure.
